Innovation and user-centred design facilitator
Client: Camden Council
June 2021 - March 2022
I worked with Camden Council on a project funded by the Local Digital Collaboration Unit. Camden were exploring ways to better collaborate with their voluntary and sector partners and the role that data has in this. Camden were interested in exploring ways of working more closely with the VCS on their Food Mission, focused on ensuring that
My role on the projects was to be a facilitator - a new role to the team which incorporated aspects of innovation coaching. I worked embedded in the Data team helping them to use agile and user centred approaches. I also led on user research and helped the team to bring in new disciplines and explore new techniques for developing product ideas and strategy. The turning point in the project came when, of the project was developing and selling through a product strategy on the basis of in user insight from engagement with CEOs of VCS organisations. This shifted the strategy from which the team took ownership of and evangelised for.
Working with the Camden team, I honed in on the key insights from the user research and built two speculative prototypes - one for a specific data product and one for a new way of working around data. These were shared with Camden colleagues to persuade them of the new vision of working with data.
There’s more background on the project in these posts:
